Today, I decided to try my hands on making sausage octopus. As expected, they don’t turn out really nice, ooppsss…need more practice *wink*
To make the octopus sausage, cut one sausage into half, and then cut the flat part of the sausage into strips. After pan frying them, I use a little bit of cheese and cut in ‘O’ shape to make the mouth, and seaweed for the eyes.
As for the bread, today I have white and wheat bread. So I decided to play mix & match. First cut the bread according to my bento box shape. Then I use the teddy shape cookie cutter to cut out the teddy on both the bread slices right in the middle, and then switch them and place them back into the cutout holes. Then I apply butter in between the bread and stack them up. I do the teddy bear facial detail on the top piece with seaweed.

I pack some slices of banana and in another container. So here’s today’s bento over all. I turn the octopus the other way round so that I can close the bento nicely.

Did you realize the difference between the left and the right photo of the bento? After some thought (as if I have a lot of time to spend in the morning, hahaha…), I decided to change the food pick to the cute panda pick. What do you think? Does it look nicer?

Switching the bread is very creative. I love them!
And I am going to serve Octopus sausages to my grown up guests at my next party. These cute little things are not limited to kids only.
Thanks! And I’m sure you’ll done a much better job than mine ugly looking octopus
