I was rather tied up for the past few weeks due to work and also some back-to-back events. That was the reason I did not update my blog and answer questions as regular as I usually did. Please accept my sincere apologies for this.
Before I go into the bento I made today, just a reminder to everyone reading this post. Grab the opportunity to join the 1st Anniversary giveaway before the closing date on 22nd Oct 2010, Friday midnight Malaysia time (GMT+8) yeah!
Now back to the bento. Finally I joined everyone in the fun of making Halloween theme bento! Hurray!
I bought some orange bread last night, and I thought that was perfect to make Jack O’Lanterns for Halloween theme!
I made two bread onigiri with meat floss fillings. I shaped two slices of breads into ball shapes exactly like how I did for rice onigiri with cling wrap. The only difference is that you have to discard the bread crust first before you shape the bread.
I cut the facial detail from seaweed and stick them to the bread onigiri with a small amount of mayonnaise. Last but not least I gave both the Jack O’Lanterns a leave pick each.
Besides the meat floss bread onigiri, there were some boiled endamame and dried prunes in the bento. To make sure the bento goes well with the Halloween theme, I used two bone picks for the prunes too.
I hope I can make more Halloween theme bento-es for the coming days though we do not celebrate Halloween. This is simply because it is so fun to make bento for special occasions!
