Right before Chinese New Year, I had a session with Mei Li, the Star2 journalist, to discuss about my hobby – making kyaraben.
It was a very relax and fun filled session I should say thanks to the friendliness of Mei Li and the photographer. Okay, I pleaded guilty of not being able to remember the name of our nice Mr. Photographer!
We started off with a chat about kyaraben, and how I venture into this hobby. This was followed by a quick demonstration of a bento making.
I made a teddy bear onigiri bento during the demonstration and this was how it looked like.

There were another two bento-making mums being interviewed by Mei Li and together the stories made up the “Food Art” column in Saturday (4th February) Star2 Lifestyle section. It is really fun to see other mothers’ creations too, their thoughts on kyaraben, and how they are hooked up to the same hobby.
Just some snapshots of the Star Newspaper for your viewing pleasure here.

A slightly simpler version of the article “Food Art” was also published in The Star Online in the Lifestyle section too. Check it out if you are interested to find out more and you missed last Saturday’s Star newspaper.

Wow! Congrats!! I did not know that there was an article on bento last saturday until one of the mummy in Mummies Connect in facebook announced it. I immediately check it out and had fun reading it thru! I also just started to pick up this hobby and surprisingly, few of my friends also get influenced. LOL. Looking forward for more creations from you.

Hello again, I have been so slow in updating my blog. It’s about 7 months behind from my instagram photo streams…what ashame. I’m gonna update this article we featured together. I would love to send the link to your website okay. Btw, do you know the other bento maker- Rachel Lee’s blog? The journalist Mei Li couldn’t remember her FB fanpage though. Please let me know if you happened to know. Thank you!
